Pastor Andrew Philbert is a native of the Spice Island of Grenada in the West Indies. He
is a graduate of the University of the Southern Caribbean (formerly known as CUC) from
which he obtained his BTh. degree, a graduate of Atlantic Union College from which he
received his MA in Education. He did post-graduate studies at Brooklyn College and
Fordham University. He also attended Andrew’s University from which he completed a
second Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry. Pastor Philbert recently obtained his Ph.D.
from the University of Montemorelos in Mexico and is an Ordained Minister of the
Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
He served as a pastor in Grenada, Principal of the Bethel School, and Principal of the
Flatbush School. He has just completed his pastorate at the Berea Nyack SDA Church in
the Hudson Valley. Prior to that, he was the pastor of Elmont Temple and the First
Rosedale Mission in Long Island and in Queens NY respectively.
He also pastored the Staten Island SDA Church, New Brighton Community SDA Church
, and the Stapleton Hispanic Mission all in Staten Island. He is the recipient of many
awards, prominent among them was the Pastor of the Year Award in Evangelism in 2008
from the Personal Ministries Department of the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day
Adventists, that year he baptized over 50 souls in Staten Island. In addition, Pastor
Philbert is an invested Pathfinder, Master Guide, Senior Youth, and a certified Level 1
Medical Missionary. He also completed a full unit of Clinical Pastoral Education. (CPE)
He is married to the former Edlyn Niles a Registered Nurse and together they have two
children. Andrewlyn a graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville Alabama and
Andrew Jr., a graduate of Farmingdale State College in Long Island. Pastor Philbert loves
the Lord and loves to preach and teach the word. His favorite text is Philippians 4:13 I
can do all things through Christ which Strengthneth me.
